Our close friendship with Mr. Shi stems back through decades of collaboration on the fine string instrument collection built over his lifetime. His founding of the Chimei Foundation, which enables a huge number of talented Taiwanese students to play and perform on fine instruments, stands as a testament to his dedication to cultural preservation. We are proud to have contributed towards his vision and passion for collecting and to have procured several of the foundation’s significant instruments. The collection at it stands today is not just a showcase of exquisite instruments but a living, breathing testament to the rich history of string music. Shi Wen-Long’s vision has ensured that these instruments, many of them masterpieces in their own right, will continue to be cherished.
