Janine Jansen: Falling for Stradivari
J & A Beare reveals the behind-the-scenes story of the 12 Stradivari recording in a new, award-winning documentary Falling for Stradivari, directed by BAFTA-winning director, Gerald Fox. The film follows Janine Jansen accompanied on the piano by Sir Antonio Pappano, as she faces the challenge of recording, in a very short time, 12 Stradivari violins for one single album.
Steven Smith, Managing Director of J & A Beare and the mastermind behind the recording project completed in partnership with Decca Classics, brought together 12 of the finest Stradivari violins from around the world with the aim of capturing the diversity of sounds that these instruments can still produce today.
The film, produced by Asterisk Films, premiered in London on 2nd September and broadcasted on Sky Arts.
