2022 Sibelius Competition prizewinner awarded loan of Guadagnini violin
Korean violinist Inmo Yang was announced as the first prize winner at the prestigious XII International Jean Sibelius Violin Competition on 29 May 2022.
J & A Beare would like to congratulate the talented young musician who impressed judges throughout the competition in Helsinki.
In addition to the prize, Inmo Yang will receive a very fine Giovanni Battista Guadagnini violin for an initial loan of one year, made available by its generous owner, Jane Ng. The 1772 instrument is from the maker’s Turin period and is an exceptional example of G.B. Guadagnini’s work.
J & A Beare is delighted that it could facilitate the loan through the Beare’s International Violin Society.
So-Ock Kim, Artistic Co-Ordinator of the Society, can be seen here presenting the award to Inmo Yang.
